RiRi says 'f**k you' to CBS after the network determined it was not 'the appropriate tone' to have her song as an intro for 'Thursday Night Football' last week amid Ray Rice's domestic violence scandal.

AceShowbiz - Rihanna is not happy that her song was cut from "Thursday Night Football" last week. CBS usually used her hit "Run This Town" as an intro for the program, but they excluded it from last week's game between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers in the wake of domestic violence scandal involving Ravens star Ray Rice.

Given her status as a domestic violence victim in the past, CBS decided not to use the song to maintain "the appropriate tone and coverage." The network's chairman Sean McManus told Sport Illustrated, "It's important to realize we are not overacting to this story but it is as big a story as has faced the NFL...We thought journalistically and from a tone standpoint, we needed to have the appropriate tone and coverage. A lot of the production elements we wanted in the show are being eliminated because of time or tone."

The song removal was supposed to be a one-off, and the network initially planned to use it again this week but RiRi and her label seemed to ban them. "CBS you pulled my song last week, now you wanna slide it back in this Thursday? NO, F**k you! Y'all are sad for penalizing me for this," she tweeted. "The audacity..."

Roc Nation explained to E! News, "Due to the misuse and misrepresentation of Rihanna's name and participation in connection to CBS' TNF, CBS was not allowed to license and utilize the song 'Run This Town.' Roc Nation made the decision to not grant the song's usage."

CBS Sport announced in a statement, "Beginning this Thursday, we will be moving in a different direction with some elements of our Thursday Night Football open. We will be using our newly created Thursday Night Football theme music to open our game broadcast."
