Sony Hires Scribe to Pen '23 Jump Street' Script
Movie

Looks like Schmidt and Jenko are going undercovers again as the script is being worked on by Rodney Rothman.

"23 Jump Street" is happening after all. Sony Pictures and Original Film have hired a scribe to pen the script for the second "21 Jump Street" sequel.

One of "22 Jump Street" writers, Rodney Rothman, is working on the script, Deadline reported. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are overseeing the script but it is unclear whether they would return to direct. Lord and Miller also act as producers along with Neal Moritz, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.

Making another sequel for the franchise is inevitable since it has been profitable for the studio. The last film grossed $320 million over $50 million budget. The first movie, released in 2012, grossed more than $201 million worldwide.

At the end credit of "22 Jump Street", Schmidt and Jenko were humorously assigned to a number of cases that put them through various schools. In a mock "23 Jump Street" teaser, the duo entered a medical school and went undercover to steal a briefcase from Asian mobs.
