The 2002 sci-fi movie "Minority Report" starring Tom Cruise reportedly is coming to the small screen. Steven Spielberg is said spearheading the TV series project by hiring "Godzilla" scribe Max Borenstein to write the script.

Via The Wrap, Spielberg's project is being developed at Amblin Television. The series may focus on the elite PreCrime unit that uses psychics to identify and arrest murderers before they commit their crimes. Spielberg is expected to put a renown actor in the role of the unit's leader, very much like hiring Halle Berry to star in CBS' "Extant".

"Minority Report" grossed $358 million worldwide and was nominated for an Oscar for best sound editing. The film also starred Colin Farrell, Neal McDonough, Samantha Morton and Max von Sydow.
