A new "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" movie has got a working title, The Wrap learns. A prequel to the original 1974 horror classic directed by Tobe Hooper, the next entry is called "Leatherface". It will be an eighth movie in the slasher film franchise.

The official plot is still kept under wraps, but the upcoming flick is expected to depict Leatherface's early years in the 1970s. Seth M. Sherwood, who landed on the 2012 Blood List compiling the most-liked unproduced horror screenplays, is tapped as the screenwriter.

The last installment, "Texas Chainsaw 3D", was released in 2013. It's a direct sequel to the original film, with no relation to the 2003 remake "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and the 2006 prequel "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning".

"Chainsaw 3D" producer Carl Mazzocone will return for "Leatherface" along with executive producers Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman.
