'Falling Skies' will conclude its human vs. alien war story with the upcoming fifth season, which will consist of 10 episodes.

AceShowbiz - TNT has renewed "Falling Skies" for its fifth and final season. The summer sci-fi series would return for its swan song to wrap up the alien invasion saga with 10 new episodes, the network announced on Friday, July 18.
The cable channel has also ordered new seasons of its new summer hit "The Last Ship" and "Major Crimes". The former has received 13-episode order, an increase over its first-season order of 10 episodes. The spin-off to "The Closer" will return for 15-episode season 4.
"TNT's refreshed and recharged drama brand is soaring this summer, and that is due in large part to these three enormously popular dramas," said CEO John Martin.
TNT's top drama "Rizzoli & Isles" will also likely be back for a new season as negotiations on a renewal are currently underway. Meanwhile, freshman drama "Murder in the First" is still awaiting decision on its fate.
