Former "Friday Night Lights" star Taylor Kitsch revealed that he recently broke up and it was not pretty. The actor told the sixth issue of Man of the World magazine that hockey was the cure to his heartbreak.

"Us Canadians, we find that sh*t," the 32-year-old actor said of driving to the Valley to play his favorite sport. At the time of the interview, he was staying at a beachside hotel in Santa Monica, California for a week of business meetings. He would go and play hockey at night during his stay.

"Hockey's like therapy for me," he added to the magazine. "I went through a terrible breakup a while ago and it was the one thing that allowed me to actually not think about it for an hour-and-a-half." When pressed further about his love life, Kitsch said, "I'm not getting married next year, I'll tell you that much."

To the magazine, Kitsch also talked about his decisions to join movies in his resume such as "John Carter", "Battleship" and the upcoming HBO movie "The Normal Heart" in which he plays a closeted Wall Street broker who moonlights as the head of the Gay Men's Health Crisis.

The new issue of the magazine hits the newsstands on December 30.
