R. Kelly's new album is currently on the way. Just a few days after releasing his twelfth studio set "Black Panties", the singer announced that he's working on a holiday album called "12 Nights of Christmas". Kelly started working on the album last year and plans to release it next year.
"It's gonna be a lot of lovemaking," he said of what to expect form his new project in an interview with Rap-Up. "I come with that bearing gifts. I started it last Christmas actually, but I don't believe in just putting out a Christmas album just to sell records."
He continued, "It has to be the next ['This Christmas']. In order to get that and capture that moment, you have to take a couple of Christmases and then you come with it."
Kelly also talked about the follow-up to his newly-released "Black Panties", which is set to debut on Billboard 200's top 10 next week. "My next album is halfway written already," the 46-year-old musician added. "It's gonna be another 12 Play album. It's gonna be that type of album because there's been a lovemaking album drought... and I've come to save the day."
