Movie

The attraction for Animal Kingdom park will allow fans to experience what it feels like to 'soar into the sky riding a Banshee.'

While it's still at least four years before "Avatar" theme park opens, fans can take a peek at the attraction slated to be part of Disney's Animal Kingdom park in Orlando, Fla. Walt Disney World has teased fans with first concept images from the re-creation of Pandora in the James Cameron-directed movie.

Tom Staggs, the chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, says "guests will encounter awe-inspiring floating mountains and wander through a nighttime jungle of bioluminescent plants that are alive with light and sound" in the park.

The nighttime events also include "live music, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery all combine to bring a show to Discovery River." Staggs additionally states that guests will "discover what it feels like to soar into the sky riding a Banshee."

Even Cameron seems to be in awe when Walt Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde shows him a detailed model of the upcoming park section in one of the concept images. The "Avatar" theme park will be the largest park expansion in the Animal Kingdom's history, so Disney says.

The second "Avatar" film is expected to hit movie theaters in 2016.
