Movie

Take a look at the sexy French drama that has spellbound movie critics at the Cannes Film Festival in May this year.

The first official trailer for critics' darling "Blue Is the Warmest Color" has landed online. Without dialogs and explicit contents which were featured in the international trailer, the newly-released video gives a look at the sexy and provocative drama which is based on 2010's French graphic novel "Blue Angel" by Julie Maroh.

Directed and scripted by Abdellatif Kechiche, the drama movie features Adele Exarchopoulos as Adele, a young woman whose longings and ecstasies and losses are charted across a span of several years. "Midnight in Paris" actress Lea Seydoux plays the blue-haired Emma, who excites Adele's desire and becomes the love of her life.

The film shocked some critics with its long and graphic sex scenes when it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, but at the same time impressed them, with the jury president Steven Spielberg calling it "magnificent." The movie won the Palme d'Or at the festival, becoming the first film to be awarded the prize to both the director and the main actresses.

Rated NC-17, it will play in select theaters in the U.S. starting October 25.
