The Gerry Lane depicter says there are 'so many ideas' for the potential follow-up to the zombie movies, but they have to wait for the script before giving it a greenlight.

Brad Pitt is up for "World War Z" sequel. Speaking to Variety at the Toronto Film Festival where he promoted his new film "12 Years a Slave", the actor confirms a follow-up to the post-apocalyptic movie is in development and he would love to reprise his role as the United Nations agent Gerry Lane.
"We're certainly talking about it, yes," he says when asked whether or not a sequel to the horror film is in the works. "We have so many ideas on the table from the time we spent developing this thing and figuring out how the zombie worlds work."
"We have so many ideas and so much information - we think we have a lot of stuff to mine from," he continues but adds, "We gotta get the script right first to determine if we go further." The longtime partner of Angelina Jolie further stresses his willingness to do the second movie, "We'll wait and see how the script turns out but yes, I'd love to come back."
"World War Z" follows Pitt's character who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic. Debuted in June, it became a box office hit with a worldwide total gross of $536,344,000.
