Lamar Odom is allegedly on the road to recovery. TMZ reports the basketball player, who's said struggling with a serious case of drug addiction, had a meeting with NBA drug counselors before he was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Friday morning, August 30.

Lamar was said getting a visit from Dirk Minniefield and Cliff Robinson at the home he shares with his wife of four years, Khloe Kardashian. They are former NBA stars who have overcome their own struggle with drug abuse and now work with the National Basketball Players Association to help players dealing with the same problem.

Lamar was pulled over in the San Fernando Valley at 3:54 A.M. on early Friday morning after raising suspicion for going too slow on the 101 Freeway. The athlete initially did not respond to the cops and drove 3 exits before finally coming to a stop.

He failed sobriety tests and refused to take chemical tests. He was hauled off to a nearby station and booked for DUI without further incident. He was released on $15,000 bail. His driving license has reportedly been suspended and a court date is set for September 27.

It's his second trouble on the road in just a week. He was previously involved in a chain-reaction accident near the Gower Street exit on the southbound side of the 101 Freeway. He crashed his Mercedes into the back of another vehicle which in turn hit the back of a third car.

His wife Khloe remains mum on the incident. She looked somber in a series of selfies she posted on Instagram. "Smile and no one will notice," she wrote, after previously ranting, "Really hard to sit here and listen to people talk s**t about my family! F**k you and shame on you! I'm too protective for this s**t!"

The couple was hit with split rumor after he was reported cheating on her with several women. It was later revealed that their marriage problem was triggered by his issues with substance abuse.
