"Breaking Bad" and "Game of Thrones" were among the winners of the 29th annual Television Critics Association Awards announced on Saturday, August 3. The crime series was named Program of the Year by the association, just a week before it enters its final run on AMC.

Series creator Vince Gilligan and lead actor Bryan Cranston were on hand to accept the award. The show beat other critically-acclaimed series, including "The Americans", "The Walking Dead", "House of Cards" and last year's winner "Game of Thrones".

Despite losing the Program of the Year prize to "Breaking Bad", "Game of Thrones" managed to bag another top honor, Outstanding Achievement in Drama. The Outstanding Achievement in Comedy title, meanwhile, was shared in a tie between "The Big Bang Theory" and "Parks and Recreation".

The recently-canceled ABC Family series, "Bunheads", was honored with Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming, while Tatiana Maslany won Individual Achievement in Drama for her role on "Orphan Black".

Individual Achievement in Comedy went to "Louie" actor Louis C.K.. "The Americans" was named Outstanding New Program, "Behind the Candelabra" nabbed an honor in Movies, Miniseries and Specials category, while Barbara Walters was presented with Career Achievement Award.

TCA president Candace Havens said of the selected honorees, "These were not easy choices for our membership because there were so many deserving nominees. In a year that saw a lot of great television, the TCA Awards winners represent the best of the best."
