Scarlett Johansson's new ring actually has no special meaning attached to it. "The Avengers" actress was captured at LAX wearing a gold band which is featured with a ruby on her left ring finger on Wednesday, July 24. The "Iron Man 2" actress, however, has confirmed via a representative that the ring is not an engagement ring.

Johansson's representative told PEOPLE that the 28-year-old actress "is not engaged nor close to being engaged" to her journalist boyfriend Romain Duriac. In addition, a source said that the ruby ring was "simply a piece of jewelry."

Johansson, who was previously married to Ryan Reynolds before splitting in 2011, has dated her French boyfriend for a while, but she does not want to get married yet. "It's really not important to me. The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me, 'Would I get married again?' " she told Elle U.K. earlier this year. She also has similar thought about having children.

The actress recently promoted her latest flick "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" with Chris Evans at the Comic-Con in San Diego, California. Speaking to media over the weekend, Evans was asked about his kissing scene with Johansson and he replied that it was like kissing his sister.

"She was a kid. She was like 16 or 17 years old. I've known her for over a decade now, so she's like my sister. We have this little kiss scene. It will all make sense in the movie," he explained. The pair worked together for the first time in 2002 movie "Perfect Score".

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is currently in production. It will be released in April 2014.
