Vanessa Hudgens channels her inner mermaid. The former "High School Musical" star slips into a costume consisting of a shell bra decorated with greenery and a fish tail, as well as wears what looks like a coral headband to depict the mythological aquatic creature.

The ex-Disney Channel actress was all smiles as she poses with her girl pal, actress Kim Hidalgo, who also dons a similar costume. "Is this real life? #mermaid #DreamsDoComeTrue," Kim captioned their picture. They took part in a photoshoot with photographer Angelina Venturella.

Vanessa just came back from "going on a lil adventure" in Bali, Indonesia. Along with fellow actress Ashley Greene, the brunette beauty took part in Oakley's Pro/Learn to Surf event in Benoa while enjoying the warm summer weather in the island.

"Had such an incredible time in Bali! There was some monkey business. #monkeyforest #buds #wtf… Lol," she wrote on her Tumblr page along with a picture of her flashing a big smile to the camera with a banana-eating monkey near her. She was also so impressed by the temple-styled gate at Balinese airport Ngurah Rai as she's writing, "This was at the airport. What???!"
