Kristen Wiig finally opens up about her decision to reject offer of making a follow-up to "Bridesmaids", which the actress starred in and co-wrote alongside Annie Mumolo. The Annie Walker depicter apparently has never had any plan to turn the movie, directed by Paul Feig and co-produced by Judd Apatow, into a franchise.

"It wasn't a hard decision," Wiig says to Harper's Bazaar for a profile in the July issue. The voice actress of Ruffnut in "How to Train Your Dragon" and its upcoming sequel then explains, "We knew during the first one, this was it. We would have made a lot of money if there was a second one, but that's not my goal in my creative life."

Released in summer 2011, "Bridesmaids" became a hit at the box office. Warmly received by both critics and moviegoers, the comedy earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy and two Academy Award nods for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress for Melissa McCarthy.

In an April interview with The Daily Beast, Feig said that the sequel only happened if Wiig said so. "Everybody's kind of doing their own thing. And it all depends on Kristen [Wiig]," he told the site.

Similarly, McCarthy admitted that she did not have any faintest idea about the possible second film, but would be ready if asked back. "If Kristen [Wiig] and Annie [Mumolo] wrote something, if it was like on the back of a napkin and they wanted me to perform it in the backyard, I would do it," "The Heat" star said to HitFix earlier this year. "But I'll let those ladies decide that."
