Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Don Omar and the late Mexican-American songstress Jenni Rivera topped this year's winners at the Billboard Latin Music Awards held Thursday night, April 25 in Miami. Omar walked away with the most awards with ten trophies in all. Not to be outshined was Rivera, who even with less awards at six, became the bigger star of the show, receiving her recognition posthumously after being killed in a plane accident last year in Mexico.

"You are my diva," Rivera's father, Pedro Rivera, said, paying homage to her daughter as he accepted the numerous awards and accolades given by her peers in the industry, including the much coveted Artist of the Year. "May God bless you, my daughter." The show also gave Rivera a tribute that included clips of her live performances and footage from her reality TV show, capped off by her brother Juan singing her song "No Llega el Olvido".

Omar, who performed his current hit single "Zumba", won the Songs Artist of the Year - Male, the Streaming Artist of the Year trophy, the Song of the Year (Vocal Event) and Airplay Song of the Year awards for "Dutty Love" featuring Natty Natasha. He also bagged both the Streaming and Digital Song of the Year award for "Danza Kuduro" featuring Lucenzo, as well as all the four Latin Rhythm categories. He also gained the most nominations this year with 18 nods in all, tying the record set in 2010 by Tito El Bambino.

Other notable winners included Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez for Tour of the Year and Rihanna for Crossover Artist of the Year. Shakira also went home with three awards, for Social Artist of the Year, for Songs Artist of the Year - Female and for Latin Pop Songs Artist of the Year - Solo.
