The highly-anticipated new song of Rihanna has finally made its way out for listening pleasure. The "laid back" yet "hopeful" song boasts the Barbadian beauty's powerful pipes as she compares herself and her boyfriend to beautiful diamonds.
"You're a shooting star I see/ A vision of ecstasy/ When you hold me, I'm alive/ We're like diamonds in the sky," she sings over the mid-tempo beat, before continuing in the hook, "So shine bright tonight/ You and I, we're beautiful like diamonds in the sky/ Eye to eye. So alive/ We're beautiful like diamonds in the sky."
"It gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it," Riri previously said about the single. "The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it's about love, and the gears are a little different from what people would expect. I'm excited to surprise them sonically."
Written by Sia and produced by Stargate and Benny Blanco, "Diamonds" serves as the first offering from her upcoming seventh studio album which is still untitled. She will embark on a world tour beginning in March 2013 to promote the November release.
