Kid Rock will continue to support the Republican Vice-President candidate on his fundraising crusade next week along with Trace Adkins and Journey.

AceShowbiz - Unlike Tom Morello and Dee Snider, Kid Rock is actively supporting campaign programs for VP Paul Ryan. Most recently, the country/rock singer performed his single "Born Free", the campaign theme song of Mitt Romney, during an event at Oakland Hills Country Club outside Detroit.

Around 160 people came to the event, paying $500 each. "I was going to come out, be a little wisenheimer and say, 'Guess which one is running for vice president?' " native Michigan Rock asked the crowd flocking to the venue. "And then, they would introduce Paul and I would walk out and say hello."

Ryan then replied, "So one of us is running for vice president, but only one of us listened to 'Bawitdaba' on the way over here in the motorcade with the Secret Service." He referred to Rock's song from the 1998 album "Devil Without a Cause".

The former rapper also supported the Republican VP Paul Ryan by appearing at Romney Rally in Michigan State's primary. Next week, he will perform alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd, Trace Adkins and Journey at the Republican National Convention.

Rumor has it, Journey have received $500,000 to perform a 90-minute set at a private fund-raising party in Tampa, FL on Thursday night, August 30. According to TMZ, the band are not making a political statement by accepting the offer and insist that it's just another gig.
