The court claims that there weren't enough similarities between Yeezy's hit single and the song of Vincent Peters, who accused the rapper of stealing significant portions of his work.

Kanye West has legally proven that he didn't steal anybody's work for his hit single "Stronger". The boyfriend of Kim Kardashian has officially claimed victory in a lawsuit against producer Vincent Peters, who sued the rapper in June 2010, claiming that the single lifted off Yeezy's "Graduation" was actually his.
Peters insisted that he played the song for John Monopoly at his Chicago home in November 2006. He admitted to being shocked when discovering that West's hit single featured significant portions of his version. However, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals decided to dismiss the lawsuit last Monday, August 20.
"Although the fact that both songs quote from a 19th century German philosopher might, at first blush, seem to be an unusual coincidence, West correctly notes that the aphorism has been repeatedly invoked in song lyrics over the past century," claimed Judge Diane Wood.
Wood additionally claimed that there weren't enough similarities between Ye's "Stronger" and Peters' song. "We are not persuaded that the similarities alleged by Vince P rise to the level of copyright infringement," so she said.
