Just a couple of months after showing their affection for each other on the red carpet, actress Kristin Davis and writer Aaron Sorkin called it quits. The couple began dating in May and went public with it on the red carpet premiere of Sorkin's latest project "The Newsroom" in June.

"They're very different people. She's focused on raising her daughter, Gemma, and he's working on his show. They'll definitely remain friends," a source told InTouch of their split. Davis adopted her baby daughter Gemma Rose Davis in 2011. "This is something I have wanted for a very long time," she said at that time.

Davis is starring on Broadway's "The Best Man", admitting that the schedule enabled her to take care of her child. "The show is at night most of the days, so I spend all morning and all day with her then I go do the show at night," she said. "It's actually a really great schedule for a mum. I'm able to be with her and have a job, which is rare and wonderful."

Meanwhile, Sorkin has been throwing himself on "The Newsroom" which is yet to get a season 2 pickup from HBO despite rave reviews.
