The 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' rocker ends engagement to his fiancee of almost two years as saying, 'No doubt this is a very difficult time for all of us.'

Bret Michaels and his longtime girlfriend Kristi Gibson are no longer together. The "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" hitmaker and the mother of his two daughters call it quits, almost two years after getting engaged on the finale of his reality TV show "Bret Michaels: Life as I Know It".
"Bret Michaels and long time girlfriend Kristi Gibson have called off their engagement at this time," a representative for the singer says in a statement. "Although the couple have separated they remain great friends and are committed to jointly raising their two daughters."
Bret issues an additional statement on his website, "With all that Kristi, Raine, Jorja and I are going through, no doubt this is a very difficult time for all of us. I want all of you to know that Kristi and I remain great friends and committed loving parents to our daughters. I am blessed to have someone as great as Kristi in my life in any capacity."
The Poison rocker, 49, and Kristi, 41, have dated on and off for more than 16 years. The former couple has two daughters, 12-year-old Raine Elizabeth and 7-year-old Jorja Bleu. He proposed to her a day after their anniversary celebration in 2010.
Kristi was credited by Bret as "the one who put up with him all these years," including the time when he was fighting a life-threatening brain hemorrhage. "Please say yes, because rejection will kill me right now," he said when getting down on one knee back then.
