Celebrity

An 'American Idol' representative said the eleventh season winner is recuperating and would be ready to join the others for tour next month.

Phillip Phillips has come out of surgery room on Wednesday, June 6 after a six and a half hour operation to remove several kidney stones. "Surgery went well," an "American Idol" rep told Access Hollywood on Thursday, June 7, "He's resting and will be ready for the Idol tour kick off July 6!"

TMZ reported that the stones "were so huge there was no chance he could've passed them on his own." The surgery was initially scheduled for last week but Phillips was having a fever and sinus infection that prevented him from going under the knife.

Phillips actually has had a surgical procedure in March that sustained his life. A stent was implanted to his kidney to prevent blockage and so that he could continue competing on "Idol". Despite painful condition, he fought through the finale last month, earning the champion title.
