Having to end a three-year marriage was a tough decision for Danica McKellar. The actress, who is best known for her role as Winnie Cooper on "The Wonder Years", admitted that she's "saddened" after filing for divorce from her composer husband Mike Verta.

To TMZ, the brunette beauty shared that she and Verta are still trying to be the best parents for their one-year-old son Draco despite the end of their marriage. "I am saddened by the end of my marriage to Mike Verta," she said. "However, we are committed to raising our son together and we are focused on remaining the best parents we can be."

McKellar filed the documents in Los Angeles County Superior Court against Verta on Sunday, June 4. The 37-year-old star cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their split. She was asking for joint physical and legal custody of their young son Draco. According to the actress, who listed the date of her separation as June 1, there was a pre-nup which covers all of their property.

The California-born actress, who recently voiced the main character on animated series "Young Justice", was married to Verta on March 22, 2009 in La Jolla, Calif. after previously dating for eight years. In addition to starring on "The Wonder Years", McKellar appeared as a guest star on "How I Met Your Mother" and "The Big Bang Theory".
