Dan Harmon is no longer the "Community" showrunner, but most of the cast members owe a lot to him. Following confirmation of Harmon's departure, Joel McHale and some other cast members took to Twitter to send their farewells and thank the creator for their roles.

"@danharmon you are a true genius. You gave me the role of a lifetime & three of the best years of my life. Buying #Prototype2 today," so the Jeff Winger depicter wrote. His co-star Gillian Jacobs tweeted, "I wholeheartedly agree with @joelmchale. I'm so grateful to @danharmon for my role, the show and everything else. Thank you, Dan. Thank you."

Alison Brie said, "I'm in creative debt to @danharmon who let us ride the coattails of his integrity, pushing boundaries & making f'ing awesome tv. Thanks Dan," while Yvette Nicole Brown added, "So many thoughts. So little room. I guess, 'I heart you' and 'Thank you to INFINITY' will have to do for now."

Jim Rash posted on his Twitter, "I owe the last 3 amazing years 2 Dan Harmon's brain. Bless ur dementedly awesome brain, @danharmon. U r #Community." Additionally, writer/producer Emily Cutler tweeted, "There is no #Community without @danharmon . Period."

Around the weekend, it was confirmed that Harmon has been replaced by David Guarascio and Moses Port as showrunners. In contrary to NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt's statement that he wished the creator to be still involved on the show in some capacity, Harmon said, "That's a misquote. I think he meant to say he's sure cookies are yummy, because he's never called me once in the entire duration of his employment at NBC."

Also when addressing his exit via Tumblr post, Harmon revealed that he was actually fired. "Do not believe anyone that tells you on Monday that I quit or diminished my role so I could spend more time with my loved ones, or that I negotiated and we couldn't come to an agreement, etc. It couldn't be less true because, just to make this clear, literally nobody called me," he went on stressing.
