"Grey's Anatomy" fans should not miss the season 8 finale of the show if they want to find out who will return to the next season. After their plane crashed in the middle of a jungle, the fate of Meredith, Cristina, Mark, Derek, Arizona and Lexie are left hanging.

While the former three at least can move, Derek is nowhere to be seen, Arizona seems to be trapped and Lexie looks hurt. Getting panicked, Meredith shouts, "We are going to die out here," and goes on a search for her husband.

Elsewhere, Bailey and Ben make a decision regarding their relationship. Teddy is presented with a tempting offer, while Richard plans a special dinner for the residents.

Titled "Flight", the last episode of season 8 will air Thursday, May 17 at 9/8c on ABC. Claiming that she was tortured when writing the big death plot, Shonda Rhimes previously shared, "I've been sitting with my head in my hands for days. I understand the choice I made, but it scares me how fans are going to react."

The medical drama series has been renewed for a ninth season, with Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers, James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson reportedly being sealed for two more years.
