Mena Suvari is putting an end to her marriage to concert producer Simone Sestito after only 18 months. The Angela Hayes of "American Beauty" has filed divorce papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday, January 13, citing the usual "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.
According to the court papers, the 32-year-old beauty listed the date of the separation as November 1, 2011. She additionally asked the judge to block her 25-year-old husband from receiving spousal support and to change her legal name from Mena Suvari-Sestito back to Mena Suvari.
Suvari met Sestito at the Toronto Film Festival in 2007. They got engaged in 2008, and tied the knot at a private church in Vatican City in June 2010. Prior to the wedding, the actress who will reprise her role as Heather in "American Reunion" told Us Weekly, "I love him. ... I love his family and it just inspires me to live that kind of life."
Most recently, the "Six Feet Under" actress gave her Twitter followers hints of trouble by retweeting numerous quotes. "When I let go of what's not meant to be, I clear a path for good stuff to find me!" and "What women want: to be loved, to be listened to, to be desired, to be respected, to be needed, to be trusted, and sometimes just to be held" are just some of them.
This will be Suvari's second divorce. She was previously married to cinematographer Robert Brinkman, who is 17 years her senior, for 5 years before divorcing in 2005.
