The 'Gold Digger' hitmaker is in early negotiations to serve as the creative director for the movie which is based on the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon about a futuristic family.

AceShowbiz - Amid a series of Twitter rants he wrote on January 4 about his fashion career and the launch of his new company, Kanye West spilled the beans that he's been in talks to join the live-action movie version of "The Jetsons". He tweeted, "I was just discussing becoming the creative director for the 'Jetson' movie."

Following West's revelation, producer Denise Di Nove confirmed to MTV News that the rapper has indeed shown interest to join the upcoming movie. "Kanye's always been a Jetsons fan, I think because he's so into design and he loves the design aspects," said Di Nove. "So we had a fun brainstorming conversation."

"We heard that he knew we were working on 'The Jetsons'. He reached out and said he's a huge Jetsons fan," the producer explained. "There are a lot of Jetsons fanatics out there, especially people that are into either futuristic science or design. He was interested in creatively brainstorming what we were doing with the movie and what ideas he might have. It was a really friendly, preliminary conversation."

Di Nove, however, claimed that West has yet to sign any deal to serve as the creative director. She said, "He was going to think about it more and see if he got inspired visually. He's a very visual artist."

"The Jetson" is based on the futuristic Hanna-Barbera cartoon which revolves around the travails of George Jetson, wife Jane, daughter Judy, son Elroy and their dog, Astro. The upcoming live-action version will be directed by Robert Rodriguez. No actors have been attached to the film which still hasn't got a release date.
