The 'At Last' singer is in stable condition and is now at home in Riverside County, Los Angeles with her husband, sons and family.

AceShowbiz - Etta James has been back home after staying in hospital for around two weeks, it's confirmed. The 73-year-old music veteran, who's battling the final stages of terminal leukemia and suffering from dementia, was released from the medical facility a few days after her condition improved and she was removed from a breathing machine.

The "At Last" hitmaker is currently recovering at her residence in Riverside County, Los Angeles with her husband of 41 years, Artis Mills, her sons, Donto and Sametto James, and her other family members. "She is home with her husband and family by her side," said her longtime friend and manager Lupe De Leon. "Her condition remains stable."

James was admitted to a hospital near her house on Wednesday, December 21 for "having trouble breathing, so they intubated her." Days earlier, her live-in doctor, Dr. Elaine James, revealed she's "gravely ill" and could only communicate with mostly "uh-huhs" and "no's." A lawyer for her sons even said on Sunday that she's "nearing the end of her time, but she's a tough lady."

During James' struggle with illness, there's been a dispute between James' husband and sons over who makes decisions for her. The judge names Mills as the conservator, but he is required to equally share "end of life" decisions with the sons. Also, his access to her estate is limited and he cannot "encumber her music catalog."

James spent New Year in the hospital watching the ball drop with her two sons.
