Accepting the "hero" award from Trevor's Project, Lady GaGa said in an emotional speech that it means more to her than all the Grammys she has on her shelves. An avid LGBT community supporter, the singer attended "Trevor Live" fundraising event on Sunday, December 4.

GaGa accepted the award from the family of Jamey Rodemeyer, a teen and GaGa's fan who committed suicide in September for being bullied. "I appreciate this award so much. But truthfully, I am not the hero. The hero is Jamey," she said. "It really affected me the tragedy that happened 11 weeks ago today. It affected me for many reasons."

After Jamey's body was found outside his parents' home, GaGa tweeted, "The past days I've spent reflecting, crying, and yelling. I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone's life." She also planned to meet President Obama to discuss the case and make bullying a hate crime.

At the Sunday's event, GaGa stated how grateful she is for such foundation as Trevor's Project. "I want my fans and people all over the world to know that there's always somebody that's listening. But I want them to know they're listening before it gets too late," she said.

She continued, "I learned very long ago that my time here on this Earth would not just be for pop singing because I was very blessed to have beautiful fans, like I have in Jamey, like I will always have in Jamey. Thank you so much this award tonight. This means more to me than any Grammy I could ever win."

Beside GaGa, Google Inc. was also cited by event organizers for their contributions toward the cause. Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka, Miley Cyrus, Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and the members of "Glee" attended the event as performers.
