Warner Bros. has allegedly turned their head to the 'Blind Side' beauty after the on-and-off-again negotiations with Portman went into off mode for good.

Natalie Portman has turned down a lead role in "Gravity", giving a bigger chance to Sandra Bullock to star in the Alfonso Cuaron-directed flick. Reports say "The Proposal" actress is now in negotiations with Warner Bros. Pictures to portray a female astronaut.
Portman was said to be Cuaron's favorite among other actresses who also eyed the part, while Bullock has been Warner Bros.' top choice. A rep for the "Black Swan" beauty, however, has confirmed that she could not be involved in the upcoming project due to scheduling conflicts.
If Bullock indeed takes this job, she will be seen starring opposite Robert Downey Jr. who is attached to portray the team leader of a space mission. The film itself will highlight the female astronaut's efforts to return home to Earth and her daughter as she is stranded on a space station after satellite debris slams into it and wipes out the rest of the crew.
Alfonso Cuaron and Jonas Cuaron write the screenplay for "Gravity", which is expected to kick off principal photography in 2011. This sci-fi thriller is likely to become Bullock's first film post "The Blind Side", which helped her land an Oscar.
