Jay-Z and Alicia Keys to Open World Series

Before bringing 'Empire State of Mind' to 2009 AMAs, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys will perform the song at Yankee stadium during the World Series.

AceShowbiz - Jay-Z and Alicia Keys have been confirmed to take the stage at Yankee Stadium on October 28 before game 1 of the World Series. They will deliver joint track "Empire State of Mind". After that, Alicia will perform solo, singing the National Anthem.

"As a die-hard Yankee fan, I'm honored to perform a song that celebrates the greatness of New York in one of our city's most important landmarks, Yankee Stadium," Jay-Z said in a statement. "I'm beyond excited about it, and on top of that, it's a New York record. It's a record that pays homage to New York. The timing of that couldn't be better."

Another event which will see Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' duet performance is 2009 American Music Awards. The show will take place on November 22 at Los Angeles' Nokia Theater. Beside having Jay-Z and Alicia, it will also be filled with live appearances from Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Lopez, Adam Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and DAUGHTRY.

"Empire State of Mind" is included in Jay-Z's latest studio project "The Blueprint 3". Its music video has been filmed and will be premiered sometime soon.
