'I'm going to do my best, and more importantly, I'm going to do my best not to gush like a fanboy for eight straight days on set,' Whedon wrote on his fansite.

When FOX ordered back nine episodes of "Glee", it didn't mention that one of them will be directed by Joss Whedon. The creator of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Dollhouse" is coming to the musical series as a guest director for a not-yet-known episode. EW was the first to report by quoting Ryan Murphy, but Whedon himself has confirmed through a post at Whedonesque.com.

He approved that it is not mere rumor, stating "...unless something very odd happens in the next few months, I will have the privilege of shooting an episode of GLEE." In a playful manner, the director said that he agreed to do that because he loves cops, serial killer and gritty urban drama, which are not correlative to the show at all.

"I just want to work with good people on a show that I like enough to have watched every episode several times," he stated the real reason, adding that he would be filming for eight straight days.

In the post, he also made time to stop rumors which can connect his stint on "Glee" and the rumors that "Dollhouse" is struggling with the rating. "No, this doesn't mean Dollhouse definitely won't get a back nine. Our numbers mean that! But I kid. Okay, we're not exactly saving all the good stuff for 14-22, but nobody's closed the door. If D'House suddenly busts wide, huzzah, we'll still bring it, and I'll still go and direct an episode of Glee, because of my love of cops. These realities can co-exist. And possibly cross over, at least in fiction that I have wri - read."

Whedon refused to share his intake on "Glee" because he thought that a director's job is not to call the attention to himself but do a compelling presentation of the story instead.
