Movie

The toy dachshund with a mid-section made of metal slinky takes center stage on the latest character one-sheet for the third installment of the 'Toy Story' series.

It's Slinky Dog's turn to promote the much-awaited "Toy Story 3". After individual character posters of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Hamm and Rex the Green Dinosaur were unleashed days earlier, Ain't It Cool News brought forth a brand new character poster featuring the toy dachshund which mid-section is made of metal slinky.

The third "Toy Story" will see the toy gang falling into a new adventure as Andy heads off to college. By accident, the toys which are intended to be kept in the attic are thrown away. They now find themselves at a local day-care center, where they must try to survive the pre-school children. Having enough of the kids' brutality they decide to escape and find themselves a new home.

Directed by "Toy Story 2" co-helmer Lee Unkrich, the animation movie is developed in 3-D and set to be released in U.S. theaters on June 18, 2010. It will hear familiar voices from Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger and Jodi Benson.

The first two "Toy Story" films, in the meantime, had been converted into 3-D. Currently screened in theaters across the U.S. as Disney's double feature, "Toy Story/Toy Story 2 (3D)" debuted third at North American box office with $12.5 million. Since its limited two weeks engagement was kicked off on October 2, the double feature has collected in total of around $22.7 million.
