A casting report involving Stellan Skarsgard has come in for "Thor". A Swedish site, Ystads Allehanda, has recently brought up to the attention the news that the Commander Maximilian Richter of "Angels & Demons" has boarded this superhero movie for a role yet to be disclosed.

Mentioning that the 58-year-old actor could not reveal his part in the movie, the site quoted him as recalling how the studio is keeping a tight lid on the project. "They wanted me to sign without reading the script. That I refused to do," he shared. "Then they sent one to me that was so coded that I could only print one copy."

Stellan is not the only Skarsgard linked to this Marvel's comics adaptation. In early 2009, his son Alexander Skarsgard was listed among the potential candidates to portray the titular character, Thor. However, the younger Skarsgard lost the role to Chris Hemsworth, the actor who portrays Captain Kirk's father in 2009's "Star Trek".

"Thor" is an epic adventure that spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. The story centers on Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior, who is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans after his reckless actions reignite an ancient war. He later learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Natalie Portman stars as Thor's first love Jane Foster, Tom Hiddleston will be seen as Thor's nemesis Loki, Jaimie Alexander is brought in to play skilled Asgardian warrior Sif, and Colm Feore is expected to take on a villain whose identity remains a secret. Paramount Pictures is set to distribute it in U.S. theaters on May 20, 2011.
