Amanda Beard is now a first time mother. The Olympic gold medalist swimmer has given birth to a baby boy in Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 15. The newborn infant, named Blaise Ray Brown, weighed in at 7 lbs., 12 oz., and was 19 inches long, People reports.
Blaise is the first child for Amanda and her photographer husband Sacha Brown. The pair tied the knot in a brief sunset ceremony on a private beach at their resort on Wakatobi, an archipelago in the Banda Sea off southeastern Indonesia, on May 1 this year.
At the same time she confirmed her and Sacha's nuptials to People, Amanda also told the weekly magazine that she was nearly five and a half months pregnant with their first child and was due to give birth in September.
Recalling the time she delivered Blaise, Amanda tells People, "I was in labor for about 16 hours and it was all worth it. He is happy and healthy and everything went as planned. It was the most amazing experience that Sacha and I have ever experienced. We are so happy to be new parents! This is gonna be the best adventure ever."
