AceShowbiz - DJ AM was laid to rest in West Los Angeles on Wednesday, September 2. Among his celebrity friends who were spotted attending the private funeral service were drummer Travis Barker, actor Scott Caan and DJ Jazzy Jeff. AM's mother, Andrea Gross, was also in attendance.

Guests began to congregate at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary shortly after 3 P.M. The service was held in the mortuary and then moved outside at around 4 P.M. "A procession of cars followed the hearse to the back of one of L.A.'s most prominent Jewish cemeteries for the somber burial, which lasted 15 minutes," Us Weekly reports.

Hillside is known as the final resting place of several prominent Jewish celebrities, including Jack Benny, Milton Berle and Michael Landon.

Family and friends of AM are also expected to attend a private memorial which is set to be kicked off at 7 P.M. on Thursday, September 3 at the Hollywood Palladium in L.A. The memorial will be "a gathering to celebrate the life of our friend Adam Goldstein," read a statement on the invitation.

In a bid to honor AM's battle with addiction, "the format of the evening will be in the style of an open 12-step meeting," the invitation stated further. "Adam's friends both from his life in recovery, as well as those from other areas of his life are welcome. We ask only that everyone adhere to the tradition of anonymity and let what they hear there, and who they see there, stay there."

DJ AM was found dead at his apartment in New York City last Friday, August 28. Results of his autopsy remain inconclusive, but authorities have confirmed that suicide hasn't been ruled out in the case. Cause of his death is expected to be determined in the next few weeks when toxicology tests have been completed.
