With Michael Jackson's death being a historical event, TV networks and media are all about the memorial service which will be held on Tuesday, July 7 at Los Angeles' Staples Center. From CNN to Hulu.com, these media outlets are dedicating most of their air time that day to the coverage about the late King of Pop.
CBS, fronted by Katie Couric, presents two nights of "The CBS Evening News" in addition to "48 Hours" from Staples Center. The Eye will continue it with a live coverage on Tuesday starting 10 A.M. up to 10 P.M. PST.
ABC's Charles Gibson, FOX News' Greta Van Susteren and more will be on location to give viewers update of what happen inside the building. A rep from the Jackson family has announced that a number of celebrities will be attending the event. It includes Mariah Carey and Jennifer Hudson who are expected to perform, Motown founder Berry Gordy, basketball star Magic Johnson and movie star Brooke Shields. The rep said they will not release anymore detail about the event.
Other networks which will be on alert at the memorial service are NBC (with Brian Williams), MSNBC (with Chris Jansing), E! Entertainment, as well as TV Guide Network. Hulu, meanwhile, was working on to webcast the event from one of its parent companies, NBC Universal and News Corp. Another live webcast is available at StaplesCenter.com.
