It turns out that the flying reports of John Mayer dating an aspiring actress named Scheana Marie Jancan are not true as the singer has denied he's having a girlfriend. Asked by X17 Online's photographer on who he's romancing at the moment, he insisted he currently is single.

"If I had a girlfriend, she would be incredibly offended by me saying, 'I don't have a girlfriend,'" he claimed after kickboxing in Santa Monica this weekend. "That's how you can be sure. I could say, 'I'm not with anybody.' That'd be a death wish if you were the woman."

"If you were the woman and you stepped out and said, 'I'm not with anybody, you'd have to go home and take a lashing for the next three weeks! So that's the proof," he continued telling X17 Online.

Early last week, Star Magazine ran a report that John Mayer was dating Scheana Marie Jancan. He was said meeting her for the very first time at The Grand Havana Room, where she works serving drinks for guests. After that, he asked her to go on a date and they even spent time at his rented house in Calabasas, Calif.
