Commenting on the leaking of a photo, showing the injured face of his famous daughter Rihanna after being attacked by Chris Brown during a heated argument on February 8, Ronald Fenty told US Weekly in a telephone interview on Friday morning, February 20 that he found the leak "disturbing" and branded it "terrible." Ronald revealed further, "It's good and it's bad to see the picture because there's other people who were thinking differently, that [Rihanna's injuries] may not be that bad, just a little spank or a little thing."
In a separate interview with People, Ronald expressed his disappointment towards the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) which handle his daughter's case. "Sloppy work on their part," so he said. Though so, Ronald hoped the leak of the shot can help people "grasp the situation" happening between Rihanna and Chris "a lot better."
In the meantime, a number of Rihanna's fans have expressed their disbelief, doubt, as well as concern over the picture of her having a swollen-bloody lip, two black eyes and marks on her forehead that was published by TMZ on Thursday, February 19. "The female on the picture isn't Rihanna!!!" a fan called Spmuscle wrote as being quoted by MTV. "It's a fraud." But another fan Realitylover countered, "Photoshopped my a**! That is just terrible." One fan, identified as Jeeze488, commented, "I can't believe what he did." Another fan called KFCMuffin chimed in, "OMG!!! I saw those pics and I wanted to cry. ... Chris Brown left her in pretty bad shape."
Aside from them all, a 19-year-old fan named Nia Mani has been quoted by MTV as commenting, "I think leaking the photo was an invasion of Chris Brown's and Rihanna's privacy because nobody really knows happened, so those photos shouldn't have been out." Nia added, "That's crazy how it just got out like that, and it's so easy for people to see how she got hit. The photos shouldn't have been out yet."
Rihanna herself has issued a statement through his representative, thanking fans for the support they have given her during the difficult time. She, however, declined to comment on her altercation with Chris Brown, citing authorities' request as the reason.
