British film and TV actor Dev Patel, who earns his breakthrough in movie business after starring as the leading character in "Slumdog Millionaire", mentions Hollywood movie beauties Eva Mendes and Rosario Dawson as his celebrity crushes. Beside them both, Patel admits he also idolizes actor Will Smith.

Switching the topic into the upcoming 81st Annual Academy Awards, where "Slumdog Millionaire" is nominated for 10 different categories, Patel admits he hasn't decided on a date just yet. Though so, he will probably take his "mum [Anita, an elder care worker]" to the prestigious awards show. "She's my good luck charm," so he gushes about his mother.

Meanwhile, Dev Patel's co-star Freida Pinto still has no idea on who she will bring to the event as a date. "My mother [Sylvia, a school principal] can't really take a break because it's during board examinations," so she shares. Pinto, however, admits she has been prepping for the red-carpet walk, revealing "I'm clumsy, so that's when I have to breathe, control, and just walk as straight as possible."

Dev Patel and Freida Pinto play on-screen lovers, Jamal Malik and Latika, in comedy-drama-romance "Slumdog Millionaire". In addition to its 10 Oscars nominations, the big screen flick has won all four of the Golden Globe Awards it was nominated for, one of which was Best Drama Film.

The 81st Annual Academy Awards itself will be held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday, February 22. The gala ceremony will be aired live on ABC.
