Jessica Simpson Breaks Silence Over Weight Gain Jabs
Celebrity

Thanking fans for the support they have given her amidst media mock over her fuller figure, Jessica Simpson blames the media for focusing on things "that are completely pointless."

AceShowbiz - Jessica Simpson spoke out for the very first time concerning the talks over her curvier figure while she was performing on-stage at the University of Virginia's John Paul Jones Arena on Thursday night, January 29. Not mentioning her weight gain jabs specifically, Jessica told the concertgoers, "I feel like in our world today we focus on so many things that are completely pointless."

She then added, "Please remember, no matter what you go through in life, somebody else might have it harder. So just appreciate" as if she was speaking to herself. At the end of her set, Jessica said, "Thank you for your support", before then went on stating, "Stay positive, and pray out loud! I love you guys, good night."

That day, Jessica Simpson was billed as the opening act for country band Rascal Flatts. She was spotted sporting black pants combined with v-neck t-shirt and hip-length black jacket. Her reaction during the show came shortly after her brother in-law Pete Wentz came to her defense, claiming "the media puts too harsh of a spotlight on women in general, and I think it's a bummer." Uttering on what he is believing about a woman's curve, he insisted, "Real beauty is on the inside, man."

Beside Pete, celebrity socialite Kim Kardashian and Jessica's sister Ashlee Simpson also stuck to the pop-turned-country singer, claiming there's nothing wrong with her fuller figure which was first caught on camera during her on-stage performance at the Radio 99.9 Kiss Country's annual Chili Cookoff in Pembroke Pines, Fla. on Sunday, January 25.
