Madonna's 'Sticky and Sweet' tour raked 105.3 million dollars in North America, making it the highest-grossing music show of the year in the state.

Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" tour leads at number one on top 10 highest-grossing tour of 2008 in North America. Kicked off in August and wrapped up in November, the Live Nation-produced roadshow garnered $105.3 million in North America and more than $208 million worldwide.
Commenting on the news, Arthur Fogel, Live Nation's Chairman of Global Music and CEO of Global Touring, says that the tour's success has put Madonna as "one of the top selling touring artists of all time." He explains, "Not only will this tour be the top selling tour of all time for a solo artist and a female artist (eclipsing her own record), but it will position her as one of the top selling touring artists of all time."
Back on the list issued by concert trade magazine Pollstar, Celine Dion's "Taking Chances" tour lands at number two with $94 million ticket sales. Eagles and Kenny Chesney's concerts follow at number three and four respectively. Meanwhile, Bon Jovi, who had the biggest tour worldwide with nearly $211 million in tickets (per Billboard), sold over $70.4 million in North America, sitting at the year's number five on the list.
