Manic Street Preachers will not make a live appearance at "Bangkok 100 Rock Festival 2008" this weekend as the show has been pulled out by its promoter. "The festival in Bangkok the Manic Street Preachers were due to play on November 29th has been postponed by the promoter," a statement on the band's official website read.

Citing "circumstances beyond our control" as the trigger of the cancellation, the band further wrote their deep regret. "The Manics deeply apologize to all their Thai fans. We hope to see you in future," they said.

The promoter announced that due to the blockade of Suvarnabhumi Airport by anti-government protesters from the People's Alliance for Democracy, they have to call off the concert. Other musicians who were also scheduled to perform at the event were Hoobastank, Melee, Ash, and Modern Dog.

Beside announcing the gig pulling-off, the band also revealed that they have been lingering in the studio for their next album. "It's a record that celebrates the genius of his words, full of love, anger, intelligence and respect. We have to make this great," so they claimed.

No fixed release date has been shared but they want to make it done in 2009. "We hope to release the record next April or May. The working titles are 'Journal for Plague Lovers' or 'I Know I Believe in Nothing but It Is My Nothing'," they explained.
