AceShowbiz - Celebrity drummer Travis Barker has plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and in a post on his MySpace blog he most of all expresses his gratitude to be alive after being involved in the deadly plane crash that left him suffering from second and third-degree burns and other injuries. Besides, he also thanks people for supporting him through the difficult time.
"Thanksgiving thanks," so read the title of the brief post. "I wanted to say thanks ... and share my gratitude for everything I've been blessed with. Family, friends, and continued support from everyone. Thank you for life, and all the little ups and downs that make it worth living. My best to everyone."
Travis Barker and his friend DJ AM were involved in a jet crash in Columbia, South Carolina back on September 19. The incident killed four people and left both musicians critically injured. However, following hospital stay and careful treatment, both of them have been recovering.
Recently, Travis and the mother of his bodyguard, Charles "Che" Still, who was killed in the crash, filed a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit against the aviation company which owned the plane that crashed. In the lawsuit, Travis claimed the plane crash caused him pain and suffering, mental anguish, psychological and emotional distress, disfigurement, loss of earnings capacity and medical expenses.
The lawsuit named Clay Lacy Aviation, Global Executive Aviation, Inter Travel and Services, Goodyear Tire and Rubber and Bombardier Inc. as defendants.
