About to have his 7th surgery Monday, October 13, Travis said he's "counting the days" until he can leave the burn facility to be able to get together again with his children.

AceShowbiz - Giving an update to his fans about his latest condition, Travis Barker is reaching out to them through his MySpace blog, thanking them for their outpouring support during the difficult time. He, moreover, also posts several pictures of him, which were taken during his hospital stay.

"Like the doctors said from the beginning, its [sic] been a slow recovery process. I am coming up on the 7th of my surgeries Monday," so the drummer wrote Saturday, October 11. "Today I finally was able to move all my fingers on my right hand. Every step seems huge at this point, and I'm doing EVERYTHING I can possibly do to get back to my kids. Yes, I did start eating meat again, but if it helps me to be home holding my little humans sooner, than its all worth it."

Giving credit to the doctors and nurses, both at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta and at the Los Angeles-area burn center where he is currently treated, Travis wrote, "The staff here are all bomb!" Several pics of him the hospital, meanwhile, show him laying on his hospital bed with his right arm wrapped in bandages.

Also blogging about his pal DJ AM, who has been released from the hospital late last month, Travis called him "an inspiration." He wrote in the post, "I got to see AM the other day. Seeing him after he was discharged was an inspiration. I saw just how awesome the doctors' work here is, and got to see how well he is doing. I am so happy to see him doing well, and we are both so lucky and grateful that we are alive today."

As for his assistant Chris Baker, 29, and his security guard Charles Still, 29, who were killed during the plane crash, Travis wrote, "I would give up anything to have them here with us today, healthy and happy. To call them my employees does them such a disservice, as they were so much more than that." Ending the post on his MySpace blog, Travis expressed his hope to be able leave the burn facility soon as he just "cant wait to get home to play drums with my son, and go for bike rides with my daughter."
