The 2005 video game adaptation "Doom" did not only fail miserably on its ticket selling with the total of only around $56 million worldwide but also poorly reviewed cultivating on it receiving a 2005 Golden Raspberry Awards' nomination for The Rock. Still, the fact apparently doesn't put off the idea of another "Doom" movie.

According to Kotaku, id Software, the video game's developer, is still very much interested in developing a second film which is said to possibly be based on the fourth in-production "Doom" game. Revealing about their intention, id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead confessed, "Personally I'd like to do another Doom movie - I thought working with it was a blast. There are some lessons we learned. The best way to do things better is to get the experience."

"We'll see what happens when we get further along in development of the game and there's more buzz and we share more about what the game will be about," the company's topper added. "As the buzz meter starts to go up, that may kind of kick-start the guys over at Universal."

On the first "Doom" adaptation, the horror sci-fi movie was directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak and starred by Karl Urban, The Rock, Ben Daniels and Rosamund Pike. Telling the story of a team of marines sent to Mars to retrieve Union Aerospace Corporation's property, it takes on a different plot from the video game making the monsters as the result of a virus instead of hellish gateway opening.
