Linkin Park's fans won't have to wait long to check out the band's new album as this month they have been working on it. The news was revealed by their frontman and lead singer Chester Bennington just before debuting his new band Dead by Sunrise at a tattoo parlor chain, Club Tattoo located at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona on Saturday, May 10.

Speaking to RollingStone.com Chester explained that he and his band mates have begun to write new songs although they won't release the record this year. "We're way ahead of the game. We're not planning on releasing a record this year. We don't know when it's going to come out. But we just started working on stuff in the studio," said Chester.

Meanwhile speaking about his new band, the rocker refused to call it only as a side-project. "I wouldn't call it a side project," Chester explained. "We're a full, ready-to-go band and so this is something we take very seriously." He also proved his new band's seriousness by planning to release an album with them in 2009. Commenting about that plan, he said, "I want to make sure the record gets the chance to do what it can do."

Although he has a new band now, Chester also stated that he will not neglect Linkin Park. "I never want to get in the way of what Linkin Park is. That's my baby . That's my band. Those are my best friends," The rocker said adding that he has compromised his solo project with his band mates. "The last thing I want to do is compromise what we're doing," he said.
