Universal Picture has been reported to have acquired the screen right of 'First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong' and will develop the nonfiction tome to be a feature film.

Latest reports have claimed that Universal Pictures have obtained the screen rights of "First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong". According to Variety, the studio is set to adapt the nonfiction tome and make it a feature film material.
Reportedly, the film will pick up the story of the first person to set foot on the moon. It will be written by co-scribbler of "Challenger" Nicole Perlman, while Temple Hill Entertainment's Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are set to produce the pic.
Concerning the first man on the moon himself, Armstrong has been described to be a driven astronaut with the goal to reach the moon with the cost of his relationship with his family. "The closer he got to the moon, the further away he became from his family," Perlman explained. "He had a family tragedy before Apollo that turned him into this driven astronaut, and he became such a perfect hero that while Buzz Aldrin was announced to be the first man on the moon, NASA reversed its decision because Neil was regarded as more heroic."
