Sophie Monk spills the bean on her break up with Benji Madden. The Australian actress has spoken out for the first time following her break up from the Good Charlotte musician and she also addresses on his relationship with Paris Hilton.

In a bid to put the brake on the wrong circulating rumors that Benji dumped her for Paris, Monk explained exactly what is going on. Set the record straight on that matter, she said the media had got it "all wrong'' with speculation over her break-up with Benji.

"Let me make this as plain as possible - Benji did not leave me for Paris Hilton," Monk said in a statement issued through her Los Angeles management. "Benji and I did not break up badly or anything like that. We both decided, as adults, our relationship had run its course and decided to move on. I feel no animosity towards Benji and Paris at all and am very happy with life at the moment."

Monk and Benji had repeatedly been hit with break up rumors. And after their many denials, it was officially confirmed in mid-February that they had separated.

In a statement issued by Monk's Sydney agent on February 12, it was confirmed that "Sophie and Benji have officially split. The decision was mutual and they remain amicable." The agent didn't elaborate further on their split though.

Monk and Benji first met on the set of a Good Charlotte music video back in 2006. They had been dating for six months when the rocker proposed to the starlet with a 3.5 carat Neil Lane diamond ring on Christmas Eve the same year.
