Was initially scheduled to start serving his time in prison for gun possession charge by Tuesday, January 9, rapper Prodigy fortunately has his jail bid postponed due to his hospitalization Monday, January 7.
A publicist for the one-half of the hip-hop duo Mobb Deep has confirmed to Sixshot.com that Prodigy "has thirty more days on the street" before he's set to turn himself into New York State authorities to begin his three and a half year prison term.
"Prodigy has been granted a one month adjournment before he begins his 3.5 year sentence for weapon possession," Prodigy's publicist, Jackie O., told Sixshot.com. "He'll begin his sentence on February 13th."
Details as to why Prodigy was hospitalized are unknown at this time. Though so, rumors are mounting that the rap star suffered from complications from Sickle Cell Anemia and was released the same night.
Prodigy, whose debut album "H.N.I.C." became an instant hit, was pleaded guilty last October to unlawful gun possession charges stemmed from a November 2006 incident.
